(You Better) Shop Around

Earlier this month I blogged about boxes of Cookie Crisp with free iTunes downloads as the prize inside. Since then, I've kept an eye open for stores stocking the cereal with the iTunes promotion.

WalMart? Nope.

Safeway? Nope.

The Dollar Store? Wasn't expecting it to, but it doesn't hurt to check and sure enough: Nope.

Fred Meyer (local chain recently acquired by Kroger)? Yep.

Target? Still yep.

The price difference between the two? $5+ at Freddy's for a box (even after coupon); 3 boxes for $7 at Tarjay (that's $2.33 each).

In (almost) the words of Smokey Robinson (co-written by Berry Gordy):
'A-gotta get yourself a bargain son
Don't be sold on the very first one
[Cereal] come a dime a dozen*
A-try to find one who's gonna give ya [free iTunes downloads at a reasonable price]

2 Snarky Remarks:

There's a cereal called COOKIE CRISP?

Oh, that is scary. ; )

Scary delicious, yeah.

Little "vitamin fortified" chocolate chip cookies. Think super-mini Chips Ahoy. I've also seen them in peanut butter and chocolate-chocolate chip flavors.

Mmmmm.
