Things That Make You Say Hmmm

Over at the iTunes Music Store this week they're giving away a choral arrangement of Deck the Halls by The Sixteen. Also appearing on the giveaway page is the "Clean Lyrics" parental advisory label (screenshot).

There are about six seconds of silence at the end of the song, the point at which I guess the the contralto exclaimed: "Ouch! This #@$!&*^@# holly is $!@#!%!#$@ pointy!" Thanks for editing that out for us, iTMS.

2 Snarky Remarks:

I wondered about that myself -- couldn't figure out what liberties they might have taken with Deck the Halls that might prompt the assurance of clean lyrics. But I passed on the download.

The song is fine (a little to choral-ey for my everyday tastes, but that's just me). I suspect someone reused an old template without clearing it out completely.

The soul number also free this week is designated "clean lyrics" but the album itself doesn't carry an "explicit content" label or version of the song (I dig the backup vocals on it BTW).

Did you get Diana Krall last week?
