Case in point: Puppy Bowl IV on Animal Planet. During the Super Bowl halftime recap (and quite a bit of Tom Petty) we hopped back and forth to watch the puppies.

The little white fuzzy terrier with one ear perky and on floppy won my heart. LOVED THAT PUPPY!

Hubby did the same--went back and forth. I slept through the superbowl (on purpose), but watched the cute puppies on the repeat show.
