Last Weekend Photo-Recap
Here're Jack and Phil with some turtle friends at the mall.
Phil with Santa. And Jack, Santa, and Phil: 1, 2.
Back at my brother's house, Phil kept himself busy with a Karmann Ghia when he wasn't playing LEGOs.
And before she left on Sunday, I took this picture of Julia with Phil and Dina at the airport
This concludes our "last weekend photo-recap."

Phil did stop in a couple of the village houses (each sponsored by a city bureau/department or corporate partner). In the house put on by one of the local TV stations Phil was interviewed about what he wanted for Christmas (and his technolust jumped from a Nintendo DS to a Wii) while the interview was fed to screens around the top of a lighthouse outside (not Phil in the lighthouse pic). Here are a few pix of Phil's interview: 1, 2, 3.
Phil also stopped by the fire department's house. And he met their mascot (that's Santa rappelling -- who knows why? -- down a rope in the background).
We're still getting the hang of the new camera, and the rest of the pictures didn't turn out as planned. Not always a bad thing though; this pic of a tree full of lights was transformed into a tree full of candy canes. Mmmmmm...

I'm Just Saying #001
(This may be a recurring deal -- stay tuned.)
PS: Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so. Glad I checked. "Earth to Brint" is still available (but not nearly as good a name for a band...).

House of Crackers
Phil made this gingerbread-esque house in his after-school program this afternoon.
Mmmmm ... house <drool>

All Phil Wants for Christmas
... and a LEGO Star Destroyer ... and a Nintendo DS ... and a puppy ... and a computer ... and his own TV ... and a mess of candy ... and an iPod ... and cash ...
(Phil was partway through a Fun Dip when I took the picture; he does not have an unfortunate tongue disease.)

My Mind Is Blown
Last night I was reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio scripts (because that's fun for me). In the endnotes following the first episode the HHGG theme music is identified as "Journey of the Sorcerer" by the Eagles.
Yes, those Eagles.
Anybody got a cranial band-aid?

It's Christmastime in Plano
No, in Plano we had roving carolers, a handbell group, the city choir and band, food booths, laser show, snow field, Starbucks samples, and more. Here're some pictures:
- Me and Phil in front of the bandstand
- ... and by the footbridge
- Phil checking out decorations with other kids
(actually, they're looking at a dead spider caught on the display)
- Laser show
- Dina and Phil at the Christmas Tree
- ... and about to enter the "snow field"
A section of one of the streets had been fenced off and filled with snow, although it was more of a hard slush by the time we got there. Still Phil had fun, scuffing up some ice to make snowballs and flinging them at complete strangers (he nailed one woman so well she thought a teenager at the far end of the area had done it).
Here's a video of Phil in the snow. (The background music if from one of this week's free songs at iTunes: "Carol of the Bells" by The Bird and The Bee; a Mannheim Steamroller Christmas tune is also available now through Dec. 3.)
